Effect
The magician displays a set of planet cards and invites a spectator to secretly select one. The chosen planet is held in the spectator’s hand while the magician “orbits” the satellite card around it, allowing the satellite to pick up its mysterious signal.
The remaining planet cards are gathered, mixed, and placed back into play. Now the satellite must see if it can remember the signal from the chosen planet. After a little cosmic concentration, the magician and the satellite correctly identify the exact planet the spectator selected.
Other variations and presentation ideas include using Pluto as a comedy moment, turning the routine into a lesson about the solar system, or presenting the satellite as a tiny space-age mind reader searching for one signal among the stars.
